Published: December 24th, 2013This weekend, the WKVI crew loaded up into their vehicles and traveled across rural Starke County as they visited the homes of participants in the first-ever WKVI Country Christmas Contest. More than a dozen people signed up to have their homes judged by WKVI staff in the hopes of winning the grand prize of $100.
The third place prize went to Danny and Debbie Woodward of North Judson for their display at 4700 W. State Road 10, earning them $25.
In second place was Eldonna Risner of 9023 E. State Road 8 in Knox, earning $50.
The first place winner and grand prize recipient for the first WKVI Christmas Contest was David Roberts for his stunning display at 1105 S. 1100 E. in Culver.
Several people from the radio station traveled to each home on the contest list Saturday night before making their decision.
