Notes from Nubi: I am SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!

Guess what!?!?!?! People outside of North Judson, Indiana have heard of me!

Mom told me that the North Judson-Wayne Township Library has statistics counters on both their blog and website. It’s something that they need to have to fill in some of the questions that the State of Indiana asks for the end of the year report. Don’t ask me why, I’m just a simple dog.

Anyway, mom was checking some of the statistics the other day and found out that “Notes From Nubi” is one of the sites people visit most. You’re also big on genealogy searches and mom said some people like to get access to our email address just to send us spam! I like my Spam sliced really thin and then fried up like bacon! Boy, is that GOOD! But mom hasn’t brought home any of the Spam you send. Guess she’s sending it someplace else.

Internationally people from Prince Rupert, British Columbia & Toronto, Ontario in Canada have visited and someone from Australia. Also people from Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Minnesota, New York (one of the places was Albany – think it might have been the governor?), South Dakota, Texas (mom has relatives in Texas, wonder if it could be them?) and Virginia. And, of course, lots of people from Indiana.

Hey, maybe I could be the next international library animal star one day, just like Dewey the cat from Spencer, Iowa!

So Love to all my fans,

Anubis

Here's A Great Reindeer Game!

Well, I found out what one version of a "reindeer game" is today, and I took some pictures.

It seems you need a ruler, 9 clothespins, googlie eyes (I just LOVE them - but mom wouldn't let me eat them), some pom poms, some of Santa's unused pipe cleaners, a picture of Santa, and some dice.

Then you make some reindeer, attach Santa to the ruler and you're ready to play.

To Play the GAME:
Roll the dice.
If you get a 5, clip reindeer #5 to your “sleigh”!
Take turns between players.
Each turn gets 1 roll.
The first one to get all of Santa's Reindeer hooked up WINS!

Sounds like lots of fun, but I would have preferred something to do with flying.

Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, great Kwanzaa, or whatever holiday you celebrate at this time of year.

Love, Anubis

Notes From Nubi: What Are Reindeer Games?

We're getting ready for our last READ Jr. Tail Time of this year.  It will take place Saturday, December 15th at 11 a.m.

Mom saw Rudolph on TV the other night and she's been muttering something about "reindeer games" and tying them in to the stories for Saturday.  But she won't tell me what kind of games it is that reindeer play!  I guess I'll have to wait until Saturday, why don't you join us so you can learn more about reindeer games too.

Do You Like To Read?

From February through October the NJ-WTPL Book Club gets together once a month to enjoy a good discussion about a book.  We alternate between fiction and non-fiction, classics and those books destined to become classics with the occasional, but not intentional, clunker.

Oh, you're wondering what we do in November and December?  Well, since our meetings occur on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. we decided that was just too close to Thanksgiving and Christmas for comfort.  Each year we read at least two books have been made into movies; so on one Saturday early in November we bring in snacks (have to get rid of that leftover Halloween candy), try to get comfy on our plastic chairs, and watch a movie.  December is just a bit fancier because we do a carry-in luncheon, try to get comfy on those darn plastic chairs, and watch a movie.  Then because January is "Fill In Those Statistical Reports That Have To Go To The State Library" Month, and the weather is so unpredictable, we just don't meet.

We will be sending out the request for copies of our first selection for 2013, "Auntie Mame" by Patrick Dennis, on January 23rd.  So if you are interested in becoming a part of our cozy little group contact the library at 574-896-2841 and we'll make sure to have a copy on hand for you.

What An Easy Craft!

See, I told you Mom said we would make a READ Jr. Tail Time craft that was red but not an apple! And they were easy to make, why I could have made one - if I had fingers and opposable thumbs. - Anubis
