READ Jr. Tail Time

Since Groundhog Day didn't come on a Saturday this year Anubis wanted to do stories about groundhogs on the next Bonza Bottler Day that does fall on a Saturday. And guess what, our next READ Jr. Tail Time - which is this Saturday - is 3/3!

So Anubis has been trying to find books with a groundhog as one of the main characters and chose a groundhog puppet as our craft. She'll be waiting to share what she finds with you.

Do a Grouch a Favor

Anubis decided that the theme for today's READ Jr. Tail Time would be "Do a Grouch a favor" so we had to find a craft to go along with it. Luckily we found a Grouch House and everyone made a home for Oscar.

 

Pop Warner Early Sign Ups

Pop Warner will have early sign ups in the basement of the North Judson-Wayne Township Library during the months of February, March and April.

• February 21st from 5 p.m to 7 p.m.
• February 23rd from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• March 6th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• March 8th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• March 17th from 10 a.m. to 12 noon
• March 20th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• March 22nd from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

• April 3rd from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• April 14th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Here's Your Chance to do Broadway!

If you've always wanted to sing on Broadway this is could be your best chance. North Judson-San Pierre Choir Director, Donna Ness, is looking for singers of all ages to participate in the Les Miserable chorus for the Les Miserables School Edition that will be presented February 24th, 25th, and 26th.

For those interested in being chorus members, sign-up will be on Thursday, February 16th at 5:00 p.m. You will be required to give information about yourself and pay $10 for a cast t-shirt.

Which Will Anubis Pick?

Anubis has been browsing on the internet trying to come up with something for READ Jr. Tail Time on Saturday at 11 a.m.. She seems to be very interested in National Gumdrop Day (Feb 15th), Do a Grouch a Favor Day (Feb 16th), and Random Acts of Kindness Day (Feb 17th). Wonder which one she'll choose?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Who doesn't know that February 14th is Valentine's Day? (Especially after all those commercials that you see on TV.) But did you also know that this year February 14th is also Ferris Wheel Day and National Organ Donor Day? So if you haven't purchased a gift just yet, you can always make up a certificate for your sweetie for a ferris wheel ride at the County Fair this summer. And instead of giving a heart shaped box of candy it might be more appropriate to offer them your actual heart; for one of you that would be healthier than the candy.

Just a sample of the groundhogs that we made at Saturday's READ Jr. Tail Time. Anubis was very good, she didn't try to eat the groundhogs but did show an interest in the empty wrapper from one of the crayons.

READ Jr. Tale Time Feburary 4th

Anubis was wondering what we would be doing for Saturday's READ Jr. Tale Time. She was very happy when I told her that our subject and craft for the day would be a shadows and groundhogs; but not as happy when she learned the craft would be made of paper, popsicle sticks (without the popsicle), and plastic. Anubis decided she will still be coming in on February 4th for the story hour at 11 a.m.
