The Kankakee River flowing through Starke County is reaching moderate flood stage.
With the decreased chance of rain in the next few days, river levels will begin to recede as will the threat for flooding. The water level in creeks and ditches will remain high the next several days.
The Tippecanoe River near Ora is at moderate flood stage at 13.27 feet where extensive residential flooding is in progress. A flood warning remains in effect through early next week.
As you travel around the area, watch for high water signs in Starke County and in surrounding communities. Do not drive past barricades if the road is closed due to flooded roads. Find an alternate route of travel.
