If you would love to have a job where you work with people, educate others and make a difference for Indiana communities, families, farms and businesses then you should contact Purdue Extension immediately! They are now hiring and looking for interested individuals to take part in the Educator Development Program. Purdue Extension provides research based information and expertise to millions of Hoosiers inhabiting the 92 counties across the state. Positions are currently available in Porter, St. Joseph and Starke Counties as well as various other places around the state.
According to the Purdue Extension website, through the program you immediately become a full-time, benefits-eligible Extension employee while you learn the basics of becoming a county Extension Educator. If accepted into the program, you’ll first choose a specialization field from program areas such as 4-H youth development, agriculture and natural resources, community development and health and human sciences. After completing the program, you would assume full responsibilities as an Extension Educator at a county office.
There are some requirements for the program. A valid driver’s license is required to apply for the position as well as strong skills in teamwork, communication, leadership and mentoring. In order to apply you must have Master’s degree or a pending Master’s degree and educational background or professional experience relevant to position responsibilities. You must also have the ability to effectively teach and communicate program-specific materials.
