Repairs to the Town Hall building in North Judson are complete. Town Council members approved a Purchase Order from Schambers Masonry for the work when they met Monday night.
The final PO was for $3,275 and was inline with the quote that was provided by the company back in September.
At the time the quote was approved officials were unsure of whether the repairs would fix the leaking issues. Councilwoman Wendy Hoppe asked Clerk-Treasurer Andrew Rowe if he was still seeing any water coming through and he responded that he hasn’t.
He also remarked on the visual difference, saying that it looks much better and stated that gaps were filled and all problem areas were repaired.

4/18/2016 North Judson Town Council Meeting Rescheduled / Town Hall Closed Tuesday
The Town Council Meeting for this evening has been rescheduled to Thursday, April 21, 2016.
The Town Hall offices will be closed Tuesday April 19th so that we may pay our respects to Marshal Doug Vessely. If you have a water or sewer emergency please call 574-896-3332. We also have a night drop located on the north side of the Town Hall if you need to use that. Thank you for your understanding.

Pioneer Cemetery Meeting Moved to Town Hall
The Pioneer Cemetery Renovation Project meeting scheduled tomorrow in North Judson has been moved to a new location. Volunteers were to meet at Norwayne Field at 11. Instead they’ll gather at the town hall, formerly American State Bank, to discuss plans for the cemetery.Thursday, March 19, 2015
North Judson Town Council Hosts First Meeting In New Building

The North Judson Town Council was able to host their meeting in a slightly different location on Monday night.
Months of renovations allowed the Town Council to meet for the first time at North Judson’s new Town Hall.
Clerk-Treasurer Donna Henry says it was nice to have the new facility in use.
“I think our meetings are going to be appreciated to be held there and we are looking forward to our move which should be in about two weeks or so,” says Henry.
The building was donated by First Farmers Bank and Trust after the Town Council accepted the donation in August of last year.
The Town initially hoped to have the offices of its Water Department and Clerk-Treasurer moved by the end of 2014. Delays in construction work pushed the move back to the first quarter of this year.
Henry says a few things have already been moved over.
“We just have some of our records that are in storage boxes,” says Henry. “The crew moved a lot of those over before we had the carpets cleaned and new carpets installed to try to keep it from muddying up the carpets.”
The Town of North Judson doesn’t expect the move to challenge residents. Henry says the meeting location is always posted at both the new and old Town Hall to prevent confusion.

The First Farmers Bank and Trust building on Lane Street was donated to the town back in August where it has been under reconstruction. The work on the building has created a delay in the move. The plan was to be moved in to the new town hall by the end of the year.

North Judson School Photos Find New Home

The class composite and group photos of North Judson and North Judson-San Pierre High School graduates will soon have a new home. They were recently displaced from Grand Central Station in downtown North Judson after a church took over that space. North Judson-San Pierre Superintendent Lynn Johnson told the school board this week those photos will be on display at the new North Judson Town Hall when it opens later this year.
The town is moving into the bank building on Lane Street next to Ray’s Super Foods. First Farmers Bank and Trust donated that building to the town earlier this year, and it is being refurbished for occupancy. The bank has a newer building behind the North Judson-Wayne Township Public Library and no longer needs the other space. Johnson says the photos will be on loan for display at the town hall.

Transition to the new facility from the existing office space on Keller Avenue is expected by the end of the year.
