Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival

The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival returns this July for its 19th consecutive season! Shakespeare After Hours kicks off the festival on July 19, with a no-holds-barred trip to Shakespeare's scandalous side. Following on July 20 is ShakeScenes, the family-friendly audience favorite that's introduced young people to Shakespeare for years. Beginning July 25 is Shakespeare in Fremont Park, returning for its 3rd season in South Bend's northwest side.

Since its founding in 2000, the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival has grown dramatically from a daring experiment to a celebrated campus tradition that furthers the mission of the University. As the professional theatre in residence at the University of Notre Dame, the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival's Professional Company presents world-class productions while fostering young theatre artists through unique educational production and performance opportunities such as our Touring Company and ShakeScenes programs.

Today, housed in the dazzling Marie P. DeBartolo Center for the Performing Arts and historic Washington Hall, we reach thousands of people each year with Shakespeare's timeless words.
