DNR Promotes Boater Education Courses through “Spring Aboard” Initiative

DNR Promotes Boater Education Courses through “Spring Aboard” Initiative

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is forming a partnership that looks to encourage more Hoosiers to enroll in boater education courses.
In a press release, the DNR says they are joining forces with the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators to promote their “Spring Aboard” initiative.
Representatives for NASBLA say an informed boat operator is more likely to recognize hazardous conditions and avoid a potential boating mishap.
Education courses are provided with the aid of Indiana Conservation officers. The Indiana DNR says 49 states and U.S. territories require proof of completion of an education course for boat operators to travel on the water.
A list of available courses can be found online through the DNR.
