Starke County Seeking BZA Members

starke-county-courthouseThe Starke County Commissioners are looking to fill a seat on the Board of Zoning Appeals. The vacancy was created when a member moved from the county.
State law requires the appointee to live in an unincorporated area of the county outside the two-mile jurisdiction of Knox and to have voted as a Republican the last time he or she cast a ballot in a primary election.
The appointment expires at the end of December. However the commissioners will reappoint the member to a four-year term in January.
The Starke County Council also has a BZA appointment to fill. They are seeking a Democrat to serve the remainder of a term that expires in December of 2016.
Interested individuals may submit a letter of interest to the Starke County Auditor’s Office by the close of business on Friday, Nov. 13. The appointments will be made at the Monday, Nov. 16th meeting. Questions may be directed to any of the Starke County Commissioners.
