The clock is ticking for prospective college students to
complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Ancilla College
Executive Director of Admissions Eric Wignall encourages anyone who may be
considering college next year to fill out the FAFSA.
“There’s no age limit. There’s no income limit. You may not
qualify for aid. You may make more money or your family make more money so you
don’t qualify for the need-based scholarships, but the FAFSA is your way to get
into the financial aid system,” Wignall said.
“It takes you about 20 minutes to fill this thing out. It’s
online. It’s http://fafsa.gov. Don’t ever pay for filing a FAFSA form. Don’t fall
for the dot-com trap. There’s no reason to do that.”
Students must complete a FAFSA each year. It is due March
10. Students who don’t complete the form will miss out on federal and state
aid, including loans and scholarships. Ancilla College officials have scheduled
four free FAFSA workshops this week at their Donaldson campus. Visit http://www.ancilla.edu/fafsa for a schedule and answers to several
questions you may have about the college financial aid process.
