Are You Ready For This Winter?

I have a friend whose husband bought her an artificial fireplace over the weekend.  She said she didn’t want to do any of the work she needed to have done before Monday.  She just wanted to cuddle up in front of it with a good book and a cup a cocoa. That sounds so cozy and inviting.

But what if you’ve read all of the books you have at home and you can’t get out of the house to get some from the library because of the snow?  We’ve already had our first snow of the year and they say this year might be just as snowy as last.  Well, if you are lucky enough to have an ereader (Kindle, Nook, iPad or other tablet) you could download a book from the library.

There are two major requirements to access our ebooks.  You must:

  1. be a resident of Wayne Township;
  2. have our new 14 digit library card.

The rest is relatively simple.  Just check out our website (https://sites.google.com/site/northjudsonwaynetwplibrary) and in the left hand column click on “ACCESS eBooks, How To.”  There you will find step by step instructions on how to set up your ereader.  If you have any problems you can stop by the library and a staff member should be able to help you.

Once your ereader is set up you can either return to the HOME page of our website and search our library card catalog for ebooks under the advanced search OR you can go directly to our “Magic Wall” (http://njwt.axis360.baker-taylor.com) to see what we have.

P.S. – You might also want to check out Mango Languages if you’re stuck at home this winter.  By the time the Spring thaw arrives you could be a master of Mandarin.
