The Starke County Commissioners have hired a new Information Technology Director, but by doing so have created a vacancy in another department.
Veterans Service Officer Mark Gourley will take over the IT position for the county. He will make a starting salary of $37,000, with a $2,000 raise after 90 days and an additional $2,000 after six months.
Gourley will continue to handle claims and questions for veterans until a new service officer is hired.
However, the commissioners hope to get someone in place by their next meeting on June 19th, if possible. Gourley has served as veterans’ service officer for about two years.
Resumes and cover letters can be sent to the Starke County Commissioners in care of Starke County Auditor Kay Chaffins, 53 East Mound Street, Knox, IN 46534 by Monday, June 12.
