Since the founding of the Red Cross AmeriCorps in 1994 more than 800,000 members have contributed over 1 billion hours in service across the nation by tackling pressing problems and mobilizing millions of volunteers for the organizations they serve. If you’re looking to make a real difference in your community and wish to gain new skills and experience then you should consider signing up for the Red Cross AmeriCorps.
They are constantly seeking generous individuals to join the ranks. Currently the American Red Cross in Indiana is excited to offer 35 AmeriCorp positions all across the state. AmeriCorps Response and Preparedness members will provide Red Cross disaster services and build capacity to improve disaster preparedness, response and recovery. Responsibilities include engagement of volunteers, coordinating training opportunities and playing a lead role in enhancing and expanding the recruitment.
If you decide to apply for an RAP position, you will be challenged with a variety of responsibilities in often demanding and unique operational situations not found in the commercial sector. These type of experiences are typically respected and valued by future employers.
Other position benefits include a modest living allowance, healthcare and a $5,645 education award upon completion of service.
