The Summer Sky @ Merrillville Community Planetarium

The warm nights of summer can be a wonderful time to explore the night sky and to learn about the bright stars and constellations visible during the summer.

“The Summer Sky” is a public program at the Merrillville Community Planetarium.  It will also show you how to find the planets Mars and Saturn in the sky just after sunset.

The show will be presented on Friday, July 11th, 18th, & 25th, and on Saturday, July 19th & 26th at 7:30 p.m.  The planetarium opens for seating 30 minutes before the show begins.  No one is admitted after the program starts.  The planetarium’s Gift Shop will be open before and after the program.

Admission to public programs is $4 for adults and $2 for children.  The Merrillville Community Planetarium is located in Clifford Pierce Middle School at 199 East 70th Avenue in Merrillville, Indiana.  Please park and enter on the west side of the building.

Seats should be reserved by calling (219) 650-5486 or visiting the planetarium’s website at www.mcpstars.org.
