The Starke County Junior Achievement Bowl-a-Thon is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. CT at Bowlaway Lanes in Knox.
This is an annual fundraiser where members of the community and business leaders come together for a night of fun while raising money for a worthwhile youth organization.
Junior Achievement is a unique program that reaches 1,000 kids in grades two through 12 and teaches them about financial literacy. Volunteers and business leaders from the community teach each of those classes. Junior Achievement students develop the skills they need to experience the realities and opportunities of work and entrepreneurship in the 21st-century global marketplace.
This bowl-a-thon helps gather funds to continue this program.
It’s time to gather five of your friends together and bowl two games for a good cause. Call Alicia Hickman at (219) 869-1960 by April 14 to participate. The goal is to raise $60 per bowler for a nice boost in funds for Junior Achievement. There is also a $25 team registration fee. This is open to everyone of all ages.
