Starke County Court Services Welcomes Santa this Saturday!

Santa will be at the Starke County Court Services office on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Starke County Annex Building No. 2 at 108 N. Pearl Street in Knox.

The staff members welcome all families and children to visit with Santa. Pictures will be taken and all may have some cookies and refreshments before leaving the event.

Court Services Director Shawn Mattraw invites those attending to bring a non-perishable food item or personal hygiene item to be donated to the Community Services of Starke County food pantry.

Any questions may be directed to Shawn Mattraw at (574) 772-9151 ext. 152.

Christmas Tree Lighting at Norwayne Field on December 6th

From the North Judson Park and Recreation Board Facebook page:
Decorating at Norwayne Field is underway. The Tree Lighting will be on Friday evening, December 6, at 6 PM. At 5:45 PM, the Christmas Parade will begin at Lane and Sycamore streets, proceed down Lane to Main, and to Norwayne Field, where Santa will help light the trees. The North Judson-San Pierre High School Band will be in the parade, and the NJ-SP Choir will sing at the lighting. Parade participants should line up on Luken Street near Sycamore at 5:30. Following the tree lighting, join Santa at the Community Building (old firehouse) for cookies and hot chocolate, where Back Stage Studio of Dance will also perform. The Christmas spirit arrives in North Judson in a big way December 6.

Santa Arrives at Hensler Nursery November 24th


Christmas Fest officially begins at Hensler Nursery with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus!  The parade will  begin at 9 a.m. CST.

You’ll also be treated to performances by the Knox High School Jazz band and WKVI will be there to capture it all as they broadcast live!

Ride the Santa Train December 17th

If you want to take a ride on the Santa Train on December 17th you better hurry before they sell out!

Enjoy a festive journey aboard the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum's Santa Train on December 17th. Children of all ages will enjoy meeting Santa Claus on this 45-minute journey through the winter landscape of rural Starke County. Child and youth tickets receive a free gift from Santa.

Purchase your tickets online at http://www.hoosiervalley.org/shop/tickets/special-events/santa-trains.html. Trains leave the station at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each day.

Adult tickets = $10
Ages 6-15 = $8
Ages 1-5 = $4

Family/Group Rates: Buy 6 or more train tickets and receive $2 off per ticket! (All tickets must be purchased in the same order.)

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

But this year it will be on Friday night just before the Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m.. Santa will arrive in North Judson at 5:45 p.m. and make his way down Lane Street from Sycamore to Main and then on to Norwayne Field. After the tree lighting there will be hot cocoa and cookies served at the fireplace on the top of the hill.
