Those who want to vote in next month’s municipal elections but are not registered have just a few days left to get that done. The voter registration deadline is Monday, October 7.
Residents have until the close of business Monday to register at their county clerk’s office. You can also register with the Indiana Voters app or at IndianaVoters.com until Monday night at midnight.
The Indiana Secretary of State’s Office says the app and website also let voters find their polling place, see who’s on their ballot, and track their absentee ballot application. To be eligible to register to vote, you must be a citizen of the United States and at least 18 years old by Election Day, among other requirements.
Some of the communities holding elections next month are Plymouth, Culver, Bourbon, LaPaz, North Judson, and Medaryville. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5.

Voter Registration Deadline Approaching for Primary Election

Those who’d like to vote in next month’s primaries but are not registered have less than a week to get that done. The voter registration deadline is Monday, April 8.
Residents have until the close of business that day to register at their county clerk’s office. You can also register with the Indiana Voters app or at IndianaVoters.com until Monday night at midnight. The Indiana Secretary of State’s Office says the app also lets voters confirm their registration and find out who’s on their ballot. To be eligible register to vote, you must be a citizen of the United States and at least 18 years of age on the day of the next general, municipal, or special election, among other requirements.
Some of the communities holding primaries next month include Plymouth, Knox, Bremen, Culver, and Bourbon. Residents in the Plymouth school district will also vote on a property tax referendum. There will be no primaries in Pulaski County.
Secretary of State Connie Lawson encourages all Hoosiers to exercise their right to vote, calling it “one of our most precious rights as Americans.”

Voter Registration Deadline (October 9th) Approaching for General Election

Those who’d like to vote in next month’s General Election but are not registered have one more week to get that done. The voter registration deadline is Tuesday, October 9. Residents have until the close of business that day to register at their county clerk’s office, or until midnight to register online at IndianaVoters.com. On that website, you can also check and see whether you’re already registered.
The absentee voting period runs from Wednesday, October 10 through Monday, November 5. In-person early voting will take place in the first floor of the county courthouse in Knox for Starke County voters, while Pulaski County voters may cast ballots early at the County Justice Center in Winamac or the Francesville Fire Station.
Starke County Clerk Vicki Cooley says her office is currently processing and receiving mail-in ballots. She adds that eligible voters who are home-bound or disabled may vote by travel board. To request a travel board visit in Starke County or for more information on absentee voting in general, call the county’s election office at 574-772-9160. The Pulaski County Clerk’s Office may be reached at 574-946-3313.
Polls will be open for Election Day voting on Tuesday, November 6 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time. Cooley also reminds voters that if they vote a straight ticket, there will still be some at-large offices and questions they’ll have to select separately.
Additionally, Starke County will hold a public test of its voting machines and equipment tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 in the second floor meeting room in the Starke County Courthouse.
