The North Judson Town Council is a step closer to applying for a grant to rehabilitate the town’s two water towers. They’ve finally completed the required number of resident income surveys to determine whether income qualifications are met.
Those surveys will be forwarded to the Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission for review. KIRPC officials mailed surveys in March and have been trying since then to meet the threshold requirement. Councilwoman Jane Ellen Felchuk has been calling on residents to collect the necessary data and presented the surveys to the council Monday evening.
If the grant is received, funds will be used to paint and rehabilitate the water tower west of town and the one next to Norwayne Field.
