Keep Your Pets in Mind

Gardening time is here. Some plants are toxic to your pets. Here are a list of some: Tulip bulbs, Sago Palm, Yew, Azalea, Chrysanthemum, Oleander, Castor Bean and Lillies. It should be noted that Lillies are particularly toxic to cats. Castor Bean is toxic to all species, including humans.

It is recommended that you avoid Cocoa mulch if you have puppies or dogs that will consume virtually anything. Some brands of Cocoa mulch still contain Theobromine which is toxic in large doses. Other brands are considered pet-friendly as they are heat processed and Theobromine free. Check the label.
